US Open Sanshou Kick Boxing Challenge for Katrina Relief Shaolin Legacy-US Open Challenge for Katrina Relief Shaolin Legacy-US Open Challenge for Katrina Relief has been changed its location to Mobile, AL from New Orleans. There will be demonstrations on Shaolin traditional forms from the Shaolin Temple, northern and southern traditional forms, mimic forms, weapons, and Tai Chi. There will be competitions in light Sanshou and full contact Sanshou with three different levels. The challenge will also have other special events such as horse stance competition, special group forms for Katrina survivors to rebuild their lives. This friendly and sportsmanship oriented tournament will give every contestant a great experience of learning themselves and others to test their inner and external ability. Tournament will be on Saturday Dec. 3rd only. United States of America Sanshou Kungfu Federation, World Shaolin Federation in coordination with the Liu Institute International will host the event to raise funds for Katrina survivors in New Orleans and Mississippi. The tournament is also set for searching some of the best Sanshou stars in the US and worldwide. The selected fighters will fight in future internatitional fights. From September thru December we will accept donations for Katrina victims especially for Kungfu and Tai Chi students in New Orleans who lost their livelyhood to help them get their lives back to their feet. All cash donation will go to the victims. All accounting of the donation will be crystal clearly accessed to the public. There are many heart-breaking but uplifting and inspirational stories about the Katrina victims, their lives among Kungfu and Kungfu Sanshou students. Liu Institute International, New Orleans has many students and their families like those lost everything from jobs, houses to basic living necessities: Patrick Barry, John Lutz, Raymond Williams, Andre Lutzura, Steve Quick, Jay Pelegrim, Emila Sosa, Shirley Chung, Lorence Moore, Lance Necaise and more than 5o students lost everything. But they never give up or surrender to the loss or grief, they are striving to make lives not just livable but better. They not only help themselves but help others to live better putting their own grief on the side. |
